FAQs

Auto Body Specialists Inc

  • Do you provide written estimates?

Yes, we do. Our estimator is available during business hours to provide written estimates for insurance claims. You have the option to wait for the estimate to be completed on-site, or we can send a copy directly to your email. As a leading auto body shop in Rockford, IL, we strive to make your experience as convenient as possible.
  • Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes, we collaborate with most insurance companies, but we operate independently. Our primary objective is to repair your vehicle to the manufacturer's specifications in a timely manner. Due to this commitment, there are certain insurance companies we do not work with. For more detailed information, please contact us.
  • Do I need an appointment?

While appointments are not necessary for estimates, they are required for vehicle repairs. Collision repair is the most frequently purchased service in the auto repair industry, which can lead to busy periods in our shop. If you need assistance, we encourage you to contact us promptly.
  • Do you offer rental cars?

While we don't directly provide rental cars, we maintain a close working relationship with Enterprise to facilitate rental vehicle services. If your insurance policy includes rental coverage, please ask your adjuster to arrange a reservation. If you don't have rental coverage and need assistance with a reservation, please feel free to contact us.
  • Are you a certified repair shop?

Yes, we are. We hold certifications from numerous manufacturers including Mercedes Benz, Honda, Acura, Mopar, Ram, Jeep, FIAT, Dodge, Chrysler, Infiniti, Nissan, Ford, Ford Aluminum, and Subaru. We're also recognized as a repair shop by Mazda, Toyota, VW, GM, and Hyundai.
  • Can you match my paint color exactly?

While exact color matching can be challenging due to the thousands of color variations from different manufacturers and other variables, our paint shop is well-equipped to achieve very close color matches. We also blend into unrepaired panels to create a seamless finish.
  • What happens if there's additional damage once repairs are started?

In cases involving insurance claims, our estimators will submit a revised estimate, known as a supplement, to the insurance company for review and approval. Once the supplement is approved, we can proceed with the repairs and order any additional necessary parts. For more information, please contact us.
  • What's my deductible and when do I pay it?

Your deductible is determined by your insurance company and is payable to us upon completion of your repairs. If you have any questions regarding your deductible, we recommend contacting your insurance agent or the adjuster assigned to your claim.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, insurance checks, and personal checks. Please note that for credit or debit card charges exceeding $1,000, a 3% convenience fee will be applied.
  • Do you accept tow-ins?

Yes, we do. We can arrange towing services for you during business hours if you contact our office. For after-hours or weekend towing assistance, we recommend calling Ed's Wrecker at (815) 398-5606.
